Grandparents day in the frame!
On November 18th, we celebrated Grandparents Day, one of our favourite events in the school calendar.
Organised by Ms Ballance, and Ms Casey, grandparents and elderly people from the community were invited to the school where they were served tea and coffee by the Parents Association. Mr O’Connor welcomed the 150 or so guests to Miss Cartwright’s classroom, followed by a trip to their grand-sons classroom, escorted by the 5th class boys.
Grandparents spent time in the classroom and had lively discussions with the boys who asked questions of the older generation about school and life when they were youngsters.
The boys also had their photos taken with their grandparents, and the picture was emailed to them, providing a special memento of a special day.
